Hello,

after having made a firmware update (to R3M008) and a factory reset on my S700i I did restore all pictures from my PC backup. Afterwards I detected serveral pictures being available twice under different file names. None of theses files can be deleted or copied/moved because the system says that they are protected (DRM?) . Here are the file names:
Late and Late_(1)
One and One_(2)
Planted and Planted_(3)
Sony Ericsson and Sony Ericsson_(4)

Does anybody know how to delete or to get rid of the double files (the "_(x)" names?

any help is highly appreciated, thanks in advance

Tom.

What did you use to update it?

A service point made the update

But in the meantime I solved the problem. Iused one credit on Davinci and downgraded to R2K, then made a SEUS update to R3M.

As soon as the R2K update finished and I made a factory reset, the double pics had gone

I had to do this the complicated way because the S700 R3M files on Davinci did not match. FS EU_5 and Main EMEA_1 did not allow to flash. Thus i had to downgrade first.

Thanks for your help,

TomS2.

I am having lots of trouble trying to get the correct files to upgrade my s700i to R3M008 US_1 because DaVinci seems to have problems with this combination. When I select the R3M008 US_1 firmware and opt to download both the Main Firmware and the File System, the only file that is successfully downloaded is S700i_MAIN_EMEA1_generic_R3M008_CID29.BIN the other file called S700_FS_US1_generic_R3M008_CID29.BIN fails to download and all I get is a zero size archive.

The question is why is it downloading an EMEA1 file for the Main Firmware and why is it failing the download of the File System file??

I wonder if this will be fixed soon... anyone has the files I can download?

You could use Total MultiServer. Some people will tell you that Satan created it and it's not worth the drive space it occupies but I can honestly say I have never had a problem using it and if you do exactly what it tells you to do in the information window everything will be ok.

I actually purchased a credit from them too but it does not seem to alllow changing the CDA info and I believe I left incorrect entries when I last updated the firmware using davinci's tool. I therefore decided to upgrade an onld T68i I was going to give to a person in Italy where I am going in a few days... the upgrade failed and I have not heard one word from them since Friday! How long does it take them to view the failure report generated by their tool and issue me a new credit??

You should really have contacted the reseller you purchased the credit off. You need to send them the screenshot of the error and explain what happened and they usually issue you a new credit.

TMS don't issue credits directly and support will really only tell you to contact the reseller.

I sent the files to an email provided by the tool itself - reportfiles @ gmail . com ... and am still waiting. We'll see...

Davinci problem is solved. The file had the wrong name so it would not download - the Davinci Team fixed it and my s700i is now a full US generic R3008 phone... SEUS even accepted it this time which leads me to believe that changing the CDA actually does work (some people say it doesn't) because up until now my phone was always refused by it.
