I would like to connect my T68 to my PC via Infrared, however I don't have an infrared point on my computer. Does anyone know if I can buy an infrared point that would plug in to the back of my PC meaning I can transfer data/backgrounds between my phone and PC ?

Just perform a "search" in this forum with "MA 600" as keyword...! You’ll find plenty of answer...!!

There are many infrared devices you can plug in to your computer: serial connection (connects to the serial port externally). There are also some infrared devices which use serial ports again but are connected directlly to the motherboard (if your motherboard has this feature). Finally there are some IRs which use USB communication with your PC. I have the 2nd type of IR described above, but if your are not involved much with computers it would be better for you an IR with external serial connection.

I use an MA600 with WIN2k and it works a treat... software is free to download and you can get software for loads of different phones... so if your mate has a different one you can go halfs on the hardware

Hi !
I´m new to this Forum, but I always like to read it..
First of all, If anyone has some experience in electronics, ist very easy to make a Serial Infrared-Cabe on your own. It connects to a jack inside your PC, on the Mainboard, most of the newer mainboards have this plus, see your manual.
Complete schematic you can find on http://www.infraredport.de (german site). I tried this out with some Nokia´s, with my new T68, some PDA´s and an interconnection with 2 pc´s, everything worked perfect.
If you want to try and run into problems, you can mail me at kauer@sunamic.com
The other thing is about software updates : How do I get the SW-Version of my T68 and can I update it on my own with some data/flasher-cable ?

I purchased one at http://www.cyberport.de in Germany.
Works fine with win2k as well as mac osx.
