My brother has a NK 5210 which is almost 2 years old and had no problems till now as he found out that something wrong with his games.

When he tries to to select the following games: Snake II, Space Impact, Bantumi and Pairs the phone either freezes or the screen goes blanks out. The only way he can get back to the menu is using the back option. The only game that works is the Bumper. He also noticed that the Club Nokia ID seems to have gone gibberish. Other than that the rest of the phone works fine.

He doesnt really use the phone much nor done nothing to it either.

Has any one got any ideas in what/why has caused this to happen?
Any solutions in how he can able to get this fixed?

Regards,

@ jeko.uk: No, i don't think my brother did dropped the phone. Why? Could that have something to with it? To me it seems to be a software problem.

We tried to do a reset factory settings on the phone, but its still the same. Is there a master reset on the phone or is the rest factory settings actually it?

The best thing to do is go try and get it flashed... but Nokias can be stubborn! ... I think it might be time for an upgrade!

@ djpowelly: I had a feeling it saw something to do with the software. What could have actually cause this part of the software to get corrupted?

That means if my brother if wanted to re-flash the software he would need to get a cable and right software for it and know exactly what he is doing or find a mobile shop that does! Otherwise he would need to bring it to Nokia repair center which would do if for him but with a hefty repair price as the phone is out of warranty.

The other thing is that he brought the handset off-line and is only using a PAYG simcard in it.

Put a toothpick in the reset hole for 7 seconds. Seriously, time for an upgrade.

@ govigov: Hum, does that do a master reset? My brother loves that phone having it for almost two years with no problems and got a surprised when that happened as he didnt use it much! He wants to try to get it fixed first, hence why he asked me to post the problem on the forum to get some solutions.

Anyways i'll try that solution and see what happens, if no luck then my brother says he will bring it to the Nokia Repair center to get a quote on how much it will cost to get it fixed!
