Hi, im going to unlock and flash my k700i with a dss-25 with the davinci software for the first time today.

So I have a few questions.

1. When i update my non-branded phone (no vodafone, telenor or something) just the standars from se, do i have to do anything els than pick the firmware with my language, that is Norwegian, and there is only one with the norwegian lanugage to pick (i think). When I have picked that firmware with Norwegian, do i need to do anything else?
Im new to this, so I dont realy now what i need to do.

2. When i have unlocked and flashed the phone, can I then use the SE update on the net without problems in the future?

3. Someone know if i need to install the DSS patch when using the Client version 13.2 ?

4. Something else i need to think about? please let me know:)

Thank you for your time:)

Have a look at how I flashed my V800:

You may need to check your CID as there may be problems unlocking CID36 K700i. You can probably ignore the section on CDA settings and anything else relating to the V/Z800.

Just had a look, you should be ok with unlocking.

More things im not certain about, and that doesnt say anything about in any of the manuals

Still i havent understood the CID thing, please explain?

When im finished flashing, should I remove the battery?

When im just going to upgrade my firmware, not change language or something, to I have to change something in the CDA then? If i need to do that, what do i need to change? This phone is NOT branded.

Don't worry about the CID, as far as I can see it only affects the K300 and the Z800. Also no need to worry about the CDA info just ignore that part all together. I only changed mine because I was flashing my phone with firmware from a different model.

When unlocking or flashing have the phone fully charged and switched off, when you flash or unlock you will be prompted by "SE Remote Unlocker" to power on. Once finished the handset will still be off.

Power on as normal and all should be well.

So if im rigth,
first I need to download the transform CID29 to CID36
and flash it, without finalization.
Then i need to flash it with the firmware and system flash that i want?

Is there anything special i need to to after i have flashed it to cid36? like take out the battery, repower the phone, dont repower the phone, remove it from the dss-25 .. Anyone able to explain?

This is correct. Just remember to flash the file system and main flash file with finalization. [addsig]

Sebby sounds like the man to ask, I have only flashed a V800 and unlocked a K700i. So if he agrees, hes probably right.

There shouldn't be any need to take the battery out. Simply download the transform file, tick the main firmware field, ensure that finalization is not selected, and click flash. The software should prompt you to "power on shortly", which means just press the power button on the phone quickly (don't hold it to power the phone on). This should then flash. Once that has done, download the main and FS files, ensure both fields are ticked as well as finalization, and again, flash in the same way. It should be a piece of cake. Remember, even if it goes wrong, you won't break the phone. You can always flash again. [addsig]

Dude,

you willl need the drivers for the DSS-25 sync station. This tells your phone to work with the Da Vinci software.
