Sorry for the n00b question, but I'm a n00b so that's what you're getting.

I need to buy a phone in the next week or two and am trying to decide between the K750i and the Nokia 3230. 3230s are pretty easily found in Australia, but the K750i, in my experience, is only available through internet retailers. Some shopfronts I visited in my hometown today had not even heard of the K750i would you believe.

I was favouring the SE handset, but after reading of the problems I am now having second thoughts. Probably also added to by the fact that this would be my first ever non Nokia handset (after 2110, 5110, 3210, 8210, 6610).

So with a loyalty to Nokia I don't really want my first Sony Ericsson phone to be a lemon.

Anyway, one question I'd really like answered that I hope someone can tell me ... with the K750i is it possible to start an SMS with just one keystroke, or do you have to go thru the regular menu cycle? I love that on my current Nokia 6610 with the keypad active I there is a one key shortcut to get straight into writing an SMS.

Any feedback you nice folks can offer will be most welcome.

Thanks Liam

Yea on my one i flick the keypad left and you can select sms, mms or some other thing. Theres a new firmware for it so it should stop crashing.

Dude... I must warn you that the Firmware on the current batch of 3230's doing the rounds is terrible too! Mine beeps before it rings, you can't have vibrate turned on in silent mode(well you can but it won't work), it crashes when i hold the wap shortcut button(the 0 key), and it crashes alot when i've just sent a txt... Lookin around other forums i find it's not just me having these problems!!!
I Fantasy Worlds and Disney Girls.
