I can't believe it worked but it did!!
I tried using my old 10x jewellers eyeglass in front of the lense of my K700i and it effectively became a macro lense with a focal distance of about 2cm. Subject is 10 times bigger and perfectly sharp at about 2cm away from the eyeglass lense and with the eyeglass hard up against the K700i lense opening.

Thanks! It's good to push the boundaries. The K700i is such a good phone let down by a reasonably crap camera. I was very excited to discover this possibility!
I'm now on the hunt for a suitable telephoto lense

Great pictures @max. I knew this could be done with a telescope, magnifying glass or even a microscope.
Here's one I tried last year with a mini-microscope on my hair:
If the eyepiece was bigger, and my hand was more stable, I could have easily taken pics of microorganisms with much better quality.
resistance is futile. |

@max, thanks so much for the pics! I've long believed that lenses could be used for the K700i (a bit cumbersome, but that only adds to the novelty ); I just kept putting off trying it. Jeweler's eyeglasses instead of magnifying glasses, that figures!
So the K700i nutty photographer kit would include: Jeweller's glasses for macro, telescope/binoculars for telephoto, and microscope for extreme magnification (thanks, @blackspot!). Now what do we use for wide-angle, hmmm.... Suggestions? |

You can also use a telescope.If you've got a good one you can get good shots of the moon

Yeah, he used a K750i. That cam has built in macro mode. I'm jealous, but will have to do with my k700i and assorted bits of ground glass for now |

If I had the K750 I wouldn't have been out experimenting with my eyeglass!! (the K700i cam has woeful close up ability)
Although the telephoto would still be worth doing with a k750, especially with that 2MP... |

@max
Could you post a pic of the Jewellers eye glass? I've not seen one. Could you give us some Dimensions too?
