I seriously doubt that you can easily as they have slightly different frequencies. Why would you want to?
Checkout my photos at My Website"Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the world together." |

it could be because of the band, but if flash it you will lose 850 and EDGE. You will not get 900, so you won't be any better off because the two common bands between S710 and S700 are already available.
I dont think you have anything to gain by trying to put S700 firmware on the phone.

I was told that the frequency is in the hardware not firmware and you can load s700 firmware into the s710. Correct me if im wrong. |

both of those statements are technically correct. Except the S700 firmware is not compatible with some parts of the S710 hardware, like the 850 band and EDGE, so they will be lost if you choose to load that firmware. Additionally, any parts of the S700 firmware that are not supported by the S710 hardware may be potentially unstable on the device. So attempting to use the Radio on an S710 may cause a crash since no Radio exists on the S710.
I wouldn't call the S700 firmware compatible with the S710. A less technical term like possible would be appropriate, but compatible implies the two work well together, which they don't.

Is there s710 firmware without cingular customization? I just hate those cingular menus and logos on the phone. |

well, Expansys-USA is selling an unlocked S710a, so it seems reasonable to believe that there is generic firmware for the phone. Those online unlocking and De-branding services may be your only hope though if you already have a branded one.

I hope that server has s710 generic firmware. I used to have s700 (not branded whatsoever) but i dropped it straight into the toilet bowl so i buy s710 for $50. Better signals but god damn those cingular menus, they are so annoying. Not to mention the loud shutter sound. |

Maybe it's possible to change the antenna part in S710a and then put the flash it with s700i-Firmware. Has anyone tried this before?
I also have S710a and want to convert it to s700i because of the 900 Mhz band. |
