k750i firmware issue. |

right...im currently on my fifth handset...and im sick of swapping handsets all with the same issues...so...i went to the se website to get the new firmware..got all the way through to where it says it will take about 15 to download the firmware update..but then..it said "cannot find usb flash driver"...now, i went via global support blah blah blah and downloaded the correct service update download, but i cant actually install the damn thing...so the computer can't find it...im using 3ghz pc with windows xp (sevice pack 2) so i know i have the right requirements to be able to get it...se technical support were...without swearing..absolutely f***ing useless...this is my first sony ericsson since i had a t68i a couple years back...and i used this site regularly...so i know i'll find good reliable advice from you good folk here...any help greatly appreciated as im tearing my hair out with this crap...thankyou all... |

When you follow the instructions, when it down load and then you press C and install the cable, the computer will refind the device but this time needs extra drivers. You can get these from the SE website

You require the Sony Ericsson K750/D750/W800 Update Service USB driver.
After you have installed this, the phone should be seen and update. If it doesnt you may have to start the process again, but this time when you plug the cbale in (as you have already installed the drivers) the update will work fine. |

Thankyou for your help...it worked a treat..it was my first time doing a firmware upgrade on these handsets so it was trial and error (for a couple of hours! lol)...anyway...thanks again... |
