Hi Folks!
Finally BSNL CellOne is going to start the 3G services by the end of the year 2005. (Though I think HUTCH will start its 3G services much sooner because it was the first operator in India which introduced EDGE. As an International operator; it is live in some European & Asian countries by the name of HUTCH3G (http://www.hutchison3g.com/) so I think it has market experience)

. There are other lots of things that I want to share with you.
First I want to tell you that the speed of BSNL CellOne GPRS is amazingly fast. It’s much better then other private players as we all know that BSNL has a lot of towers in India then any other private player so the Network is always very strong and you can surf GPRS at those places where enough electricity and water is not available to its residents.

. Be patient till last picture gets downloaded because there are lots of pictures and you have to search in its screen images. There is also a new browser which is getting hot among mobile phone brands. this is Access NetFront Browser which moulds websites into look alike mobile version. That means the websites you see on a computer will look same on your mobile phone with a little difference.
Other things that make CellOne Portal (www.cellone.in)
Much better then other portals are that there are lots of freebies available for you to download that means you won’t be charged also there is huge downloading stuff waiting for you. To access it through your computer type www.cellone.in and through your cell phone type WAP in place of WWW.
To download the latest WAP or GPRS settings on your cell phone go to www.sonyericsson.com/support , follow the procedure and download it. BSNL WEST ZONE USERS (www.celloneindia.com) , send the text message WAP to +919422200510. You will receive the settings.
For Those people who don’t know how to logon to Yahoo!, MSN & ICQ Messenger through SMS; I have important information for them. Just follow these procedures: (1) go to CellOne menu. Click MY PORTAL and then click PREVIEW or DOWNLOAD. You will see a lot of new online services .CHATZONE is also one of them. Download them all. You have to restart your phone several times to update your phone. (2) Send HELP to 676767 as SMS text message. You will receive help on YAHOO! , MSN & ICQ. I will recommend first procedure as you will get lot more apart from CHATZONE. Through first procedure, the last service you will download will show error until new service is not introduced (I don’t know why?) Also this procedure will work for postpaid customers and for those people who have MY PORTAL submenu on CellOne menu.
In my opinion, nowadays the 3G handsets are so costly that you can buy a new laptop or computer or a hi fidelity TV .so if your budget doesn’t stands there then you can buy any EDGE handset. NOKIA has got some less expensive EDGE handsets.

If you want to buy just simple GPRS phone then buy that phone which has GPRS Class 10.its better then GPRS Class 8 because its little fast and better for instant messaging as it provides more slots to upload data from your phone.
