Only really useful for any amatuer astronomers out there but i have created a little Free JAVA application for mobile phones that may be of some use or interest.
It enables you to get live details for
Iridium Flares (24 hours, days, daytime, previous 48 hours) -Mag, Start,Max
Alt, End, Sat ID
ISS Passes, - Mag, Start, Max Alt, End
Envisat Passes- Mag, Start, Max Alt, End
Planet Data - (Ra,Dec,Range,Mag,Const,Trans,Set,Infer
Conj,Opposition,Sup Conj,Max E Elong, Max W Elong,Perhilion,Aphelion.
It uses the GPRS connection on your mobile to get the data.
The program allows you to search for your nearest location, or alternatively
if you know your current Lat/Long you can enter it manually.
You can store up to 10 different locations too for future.
Its only an initial release (1.0) and works on most modern JAVA enabled
mobile phones, depending upon peoples responses and requirements I may add
more functionality to it in the future.
Note: You will have to set up a "Internet Access Point" GPRS setting on your
phone - consult your mobile operators website for more info. You will be
asked by the
program to allow access to web when u search, select your Mobile Web GPRS
option.
for O2 users in the UK the following settings should work.:
Connection Name: Mobile Web
APN: mobile.o2.co.uk
Data Bearer: GPRS
Username: o2web
Password: password
Gateway: 0.0.0.0
Primary Name Server: 193.113.200.200
Seconday Name Server: 193.113.200.201
The program is FREE to download but comes with no support, its more of a
trial run to see if anyone is interested in giving it a go
You can get it from www.bramsoft.com/starchaser.htm
or if your on WAP link directly to the jar file with link below:
http://www.bramsoft.com/files/Starchaser.jar
You will have to consult your mobile phone handbook to see how to
download/install the application on your phone model.
Enjoy

Hi,
Im assuming your trying to set your location when it hangs, it will probably hang if you havent set your GPRS connection to use the mobile.o2.co.uk APN, its most important that you do this or the application cant access the web.
For info on setting up the Mobile Web try having a look here http://www.reqwireless.com/apns.html as their web-browser software also requires this mobile web setting up.
