Does anyone of you guys ever tried to use their T68(i) via IR and connects thru the web or download emails? I know that the speed can only be 9600bps, can we do something to increase the transmission speed?

hmmm... your subject is about fax but you're asking about email, etc. so anyway, gsm fax is limited to 9600, gsm data from 9600 up to 43k, gprs from 28k up. all of these are supported by the t68.

Guys,

I tried it yesterday and the speed is only up to 9600bps. good for downloading emails only not for browsing.

Well, I do hope SE can come up with a speed conversion or whatever......

Gsm data isfrom 9600 to 28.8 kbps gprs is from 9600 to 153.4 kbps depending on ur devices slots avail. Ur isp should have you on gprs data speed. If you mean ir port speed then ir max speed is 4mega bits per second on some devices. My t 39 is at 1mega bits.

@frederick, if you are stuck with 9600 then that means you are using GSM data, aka CSD. Why don't you use GPRS? I can get up to 32kbps with Smart's GPRS.

there is no "speed conversion" needed. you have to revisit how you use your phone in data mode.
