O2 branding - K750i |

Hi guys.
I know that voda and orange do their best to ruin SE phones, but how much do O2 do when branding them. - specifically with the K750i in mind.
What are the noticable differences between O2 branded and unbranded, and Is it enough to disrupt your use of the phone?
Are there any features locked by the O2 branding?
Cheers,

O2 branding is minimal. They have their own startup and shutdown plus an O2 link on the main menu for O2 active. That is about it, They also dont lock their handsets so you can still use it on any network.

I've already posted this picture in a few other threads asking exactly the same question:
That top left icon is ALL of the O2 branding that is fixed. No features are blocked. The phones themselves aren't locked to O2. No external branding on the phone itself.

Excellent. Thats reassuring.
I guess my only hesitation with O2 now is the delivery reports.
Does anyone know if there is an easy way of including the *0# at the front of texts on the k750i ?
From what i can tell by playing around on my t610, it looks like it could prove to be a time consuming exercise if having to go into "insert symbol" each time! |

Yeah but the right pic show the K700 menu, not the K750 menu!, confused the hell out of me that did. |

The right pic does show the K700 menu, but its the top-left icon that we're talking about. Just to show the difference between the normal and O2 icon... ignore the rest.
You can make an SMS template with *0# at the start of a message and just use that as the basis for any text. Then you can add the Templates menu to your shortcuts.
I've never really understood the big deal about delivery reports. Do all the people who think this is important also send all their postal mail by recorded delivery. Or phone poeple up to ask if they've received an email?
They're useful on occasions, but not all the time...

I got my 02 k750 from CPW and there was no branding at all - they just get sim free K750s and add an 02 sim.
Not even an 02 start up screen |

Yeah, i know carphone warehouse sell unbranded phones, but the offers on the 02 website work out much better for me.
£30 online = 200 xnet mins, 500 texts.
£30 cpw = 200 xnet mins, only 50 texts. |

Oh, and one last question. What colour do O2 do the k750 in? Ideally i'm after a black one!
Orange seem to only do black, and voda only silver... from what i've seen so far. |

CPW did a price match for me against another online retailer... Might be worth asking them

The O2 phones are all in black, but you'll have to wait till the 20th before you get a new phone, all the phones they have in stock have been recalled. |

Majoha - you're right, it is worth asking. I'll print off what O2 online offer and take it in.
Yes, it says on the O2 site that delivery commencing 20th. No problem really, i'd rather wait and know that it's going to work! |
