Do SE have any plans for a PTT phone for Europe? |

I was looking in to this the other day and apparently PTT (Push To Talk) phones will be in the UK by the end of the year.
In case you don't know what I am on about, PTT is to America what SMS is to us. You get your PTT enabled phone and you add contacts to your PTT menu and if they have a PTT enabled phone you simply hold the PTT button and talk, then release and within seconds (about the time an SMS takes) the other person receives your PTT message through their speaker, making the phone kinda like a walkie talkie, but able to cover vast distances (i.e. wherever you get a network signal). You can also talk to multiple contacts at once!
This is the reason SMS never really took in America and I can see why. Having seen a demo of it I have to say I am mightly impressed!
Now, Nokia and Motorola should have PTT handsets by the end of the year but does anyone know if SE will have one available? |

The phone that they are announcing tomorrow - code named Ellen - is rumoured to have PTT. So it works like sending a voice recording by MMS? And is it free?

Many UK phones already have PTT enabled, but do any of the UK networks actually support PTT ?

the first PTT phone dates back to the year 2001 and it was an ericsson one. but none of the providers had the capability to offer it.

R250s pro
you could get up to 6-8 people to talk all at the same time.
ofcourse hardly any people know that this phone could do this. most people think this was only the best waterproof and shockresistant phone ever build.
