Need help on the follwing topics...
1. How to activate?

2. how good is it?

3. (General): how expensive will 0.10 Rs./KB rate turn out??

Thanks a lot

@sanjcher
i too had the same prob with airtel (maharastra), had to sit on there head to get it activated. Had to even go to their airtel showroom. Airtel is a #$#$. Charge like hell, so gave it up long back.

But trust me BSNL is giving quite a good service, plus the tarrif is superb...

Bsnl is better only after the service is started.Till it they are worst unless you know some officer from head office. They charge you some 200 Rs. per month. It might turn out costly affair.Have they introduced the gprs service in mahashtra?

hiya Akshat, Yeah. There cud b differ'nces in exp. frm person to person with providers.

Thr IS some basic info about GPRS on BSNL site. But rather find a guy with good knowledge in thr main off. in yor city.

Depending on how much you use,ANY vol. based plan can turnout fcukin expensive (10 paisa per KB! would be bad for me,I d/load files by the dozen)

& whosoevr says they couldn't activate a service for 3 mnths or had to sit on their heads etc. need to wake up! Guys! Get rude with them if u have to.

I had spoken to Airtel CC on quiet a few occasions. SUCKS !

Infact being on Orange for long as made me adjust to a very demanding Service Standards. Other guys from diff providers I ever spoke looked TOTALLY at loss to even understand or resolve the issue.

The cuties at Orange shop have always been good at fixing issues & being prompt in responding

Akhshat,

I am not sure if BSNL in West Zone is active.. try using the same APN as used in Calcutta.

Did you try calling up +91 9400024365 or check these sites

well this thread can wait for the while, cause the BSNL site is up to date and the services in my zone have yet not started.

I only want to get GPRS activated for the MMS, yes the 10 ps/sec is hell expensive. But i don't care for that have a Broadband connection at home, that will do!!

Thanks people

But i heard hutch blockin some sites such as tagtag.com , so i guess Airtel is the only choice left amongst the gsm operators...
