A couple of questions about GSM SIM-card compatibility:

  1. Are every SIM-card compatible with every mobile phone?
  2. There are SIM-cards with different voltage ratings. I understand that it probably/certainly affects the mobile phones battery performance. But apart from that, do you have to bother? Does it matter? What can/will happen?
  3. What might/will happen if you put an old SIM-card in a new phone?
  4. What might/will happen if you put a new SIM-card in an old phone?
  5. If something goes wrong, which is most likely: That the SIM-card is damaged or that the mobile phone is damaged?

Thanks a lot in advance!

I'm not sure about the voltage thing, but my 3G sim-card (Tre/3) does NOT work in my T68i or K750i. My 3G phone accepts 2G cards though.

When I enter the pin code it just asks for it again, typing in the wrong one does not work (says wrong pin).

But AFAIK all 2G cards works in all 2G phones. You still get those big card adaptors!

All 2g sims would work in a 3g phone but not vice versa...also i dont think it makes any difference to the phone how old a sim card is or vice versa.
