Has anyone noticed that when you search for something on wap.google.com (searching in "mobile web", which you choose in search options) lately, the results are totally different to what you searched for. Either that, or my phone is seriously screwed, lol.

Is it happening to you 2?

XHTML = www.google.com/xhtml
WML = wap.google.com

I'm talking about the WML one.

& aet419, who are you asking?

@funkay, some wap 2.0 browsers open the xhtml site of google when you type wap.google.com instead of the wml one. And the results for the xhtml site is completely different from the wml one. Edit: ok i see that you've mentioned about the "mobile web" option. Thats the wml site! And yes, the google wml site is famous for bringing up totally irrelevant results. But on the whole i find it really useful. _________________ Never put off till tomorrow what you can avoid all together.

@funkay

Yes it is happening with my phone as well as my sons.

You type in a search ... for example, "esato", and it will give you another
crazy or obscene title indicating that it can not be found.

the result has nothing to do with the original word or phrase used.

I typed in tag tag and it said something like ... " Hot Lipps was not found. they must have some type of bug in their search engine.

Thanks REO for replying.
I wonder if wml google has been hacked, cause alot of the search results you get (regardless of what you search for) are about celebrities, xxx-rated content, advertisements, "something for free", etc, or just plain don't make sense.

Well, i'm glad it's not just my phone then!!!

@funkay

I was going crazy, went through every setting in my phone.

Almost did a reset, which I've never done and was afraid to lose valueble files. I'm glad I waited.

I have been using wml and xhtml versions for yonks and have all but given up on them. For me wml is only good for the mobile web, entire web 9 times out of 10 returns errors. Same for xhtml, i can get 1 or 2 pages into a website then errors occur. Picture results work find thou.... Wish they would fix this, its frustrating! I sent then an e-mail once but no reply. Think iv had better luck using google through http://gateway.oceanlake.com/ give it a try.

I've also given up on the wml version of Google. Noticed problems last year but in the last couple of months it's been giving crazy results when you're searching for the most simple things.
