Calendar sync'ing - 1 hour difference ? |
markusbkoch Joined: May 27, 2005 Posts: 18 PM |
When I sync my appointments from the Outlook 2000 calendar, they are copied to the phone with a one-hour-difference (eg. appointment at 9 on the PC is copied as 10 on the phone)
I'm using the latest Sync Station over serial bluetooth, and K700 R2AY.
The phone and the PC are set to the same time zone, not on DST.
When I set the phone to GMT-4h and the PC to GMT-3h, it works. Any ideas? | |

Check your setting for Summer Time.

You'd better use that software: it's called "birthdayreminder". it is a marvel, works like a treat. Before, I used so many progams and I still had the one hour difference, even though I changed my summer time... With this softwre, this is just a bad souvenir... Simple, easy, reliable...

I'm sure you'll like it ! It's operated via Bluetooth, it's fast and efficient... Use it and leave your comments here !

Thanks, you guys
@Resident
I'd already checked that one. Neither the phone nor the PC are on Summer Time, or Daylight Saving Time (DST).

Thanks, but I'd really rather have it sync'ed with Outlook.
Anyway, if no ideas come up, I'll just live the phone on GMT-4 - it doesn't bother me

You wouldn't have this problem with birthdayreminder...

@markus,
Check and make sure that ALL of your calendars are on the same setting, i.e. Summer Time, or Standard Time. Also make sure your time zone offsets are both the same. I had this as well and found that my time zones were off. Do this before you download or by anything.

I have the same problem and are about ready to pull my hair out. My timezone setting on 1. the phone, 2 the pc, 3 Outlook calendar are on GMT+7 (SE Asia Daylight time). No matter what I do, appointments show up on the phone 1 hour ahead.
I tried changing my phone timezone back to GMT+6, then funny things happened. The calendar item sync'ed from outlook -> phone shows up at the 'right' time. (e.g. 4 pm on GMT +7 shows up as 4 pm on GMT+6 on the phone). But if I ever enter an appointment on the phone, the sync from phone to pc shows up at 1 hour LATER (i.e. the sync is only correct on the way back!!!)
I heard about some users having the same problem with P900. They went into the phone system file and deleted a file called GMToffset.ini in their phone. The file is then recreated in the next sync with the right time. But the software they quoted only works with P800/900.
Any thoughts? |

I had this problem while using a PPC as well. I resolved this by using a standard setting and telling one of them (can not remember summer time) but to use simple standard time.
