After updating two S700's to R3M both phones have started to corrupt Memorysticks. One can no longer access memorysticks at all. One can no longer access the "audio" folder.

Both phones sim-free and unlocked.

R3M EU4... i might add...

Update:

Note: These problems didn't show at first. They came gradually. The phone that can no longer access memorysticks at all started out with a few corrupt pictures in the DCIM folder...

Both phones had no problems with memorysticks using R3K or previous firmwares...

What did you flash them with? I have flashed with TMS and had zero problems with R3M.

SEUS is known for causing degraded corruption in firmware. I have said it (many times) before and I will say it again, I do not recommend SEUS as a viable flash solution. It still has the problems they have tried 4 times to iron out and failed each time!

Just to set people's minds at ease, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the firmware in this instance, it is down to the SEUS. R3M is the latest stable firmware and a recommended upgrade until the new maintenance fix expected soon.

I disagree. SEUS has worked perfectly every time I have used it with no corrupted flashes. I am sure that flashing a phone in general can cause problems and yes the SEUS has had a problem in the past but I do not think that SE would continue to roll out a problem that will in the end cause them more problems.

Well we know R3M is fine so what else can be to blame?

Don't you find it strange that the update service was taken down that many times and still people get issues? It's not as bad as it was when it was first launched but it is still not perfect!

People need to start checking their logs after performing an update, I bet people still get the errors.

I was in Kuwait when someone brought in a phone to have the software flashed and they screwed up the phone. He walked out with a new one. So upgrading is not perfect by any means. The SEUS is not bad considering that not everyone can hop down to the local SE show.

@ sapporobaby

Its not bad I agree but I think there should be a warning (clearly written, maybe in red letters) that using this site may cause corruption of firmware!

Obviously this will never happen as SE aren't going to clearly admit that they have a problem that they cannot rectify, but I do think people should know the risk they take using the site!
