K750 and HBH-660 headset problem |

HBH 660 used to work fine with my T630, but I have a couple of problems with the K750 now. Below is an email I have sent to SE.
Any thoughts/advice/comments???
"I have a HBH-660 headset that I used to use with my T630. It worked fine.
1. HBH-660 is switch on and left in car
2. get in car, bluetooth activated on my T630 phone
3. press button on HBH-660 and it connects to phone and I can make a call
4. get out of car, move out of range
5. Get back in to car
6. I can still press button on HBH-660 and make a call
I have now bought a K750i, and use it with the HBH-660. Now :-
1. HBH-660 is switch on and left in car
2. get in car, activate bluetooth on my K750 phone. It switches to in-car profile and connects to HBH-660 fine
3. press button on HBH-660 and it connects to phone and I can make a call
4. get out of car, move out of range
5. Get back in to car
6. Press button on HBH-660, does not connect to phone. I have to get my phone out of my pocket, switch off bluetooth, then switch it back on.
With the T630 it was easy. As long as I left the HBH-660 switched on in the car, then I could come and go as I please and the headset would always connect to the T630 phone in my pocket (as long as I left
blootooth switch on all the time). Now with the K750, each time I get back in the car, I have to take the phone out of my pocket and switch bluetooth off, then switch it back on again, and put the phone back in my pocket.
Why doesn't it work in the same easy way as the T630??
Also, on occasions, with the K750. Pressing the button on the HBH-660 does not end/cancel a call, I have to do it through the phone"

I've had the same problems. It's almost certainly a firmware issue with the phone and hopefully will be addressed by an update which is due next week.
The K750i employs the newer Bluetooth 2.0 standard, which is supposed to be backwards-compatible. It should just be a teething problem, but it's certainly very annoying. |

I also have this problem both on the hbh-200, hbh-660 and the hcb-300. Sometimes when I call out from the hcb-300 I lose the sound both from my microphone and the sound from the other end. Annoying. I think this is a software problem. My Nokia 6630 is working perfectly on hcb-300. We better be patient and wait for a new firmware... |

This was true of the K700i too. Once the connection is dropped, these two phone seem to want you to initiate any connection from the phone. It was never "fixed" on the k700i, so I wouldn't hold your breath with the k750. It's just a change (for the worse, IMHO) in their implementation. |

@Grimslade:
I'm sorry, but it's not my case. I'm a K700 owner and, as soon as I come back in my car (where I've left the HBH-600 on but out of range) and press the button on the h'set, the search process begins and finally the connection is re-established!
Just a couple of seconds holding... and all is ok..
No problem at all!
Could be the 660 different from HBH-600 ??

Presumably he is talking about the first/current K750i firmware update no fixing the problem as this thread is about the K750i and the HBH-660 and not the K700 which your reference to firmware was about.
The problems with the HBH-660 on either the K750i or K700i could well be the headset firmware rather than anything to do with the phone - early HBH-660 and HBH-300 had a few issues which I know for a fact in the case of the HBH-300 they fixed with new firmware on the unit so this may well be the case with the HBH-660. |

I have no idea on current handsets, although with older SE phones/headsets you used to be able to see the headset firmware version through a menu on the phone. |

I just sold my old Bluetrek and got a new HBH-660. I found that the confirmation repeat of the voicedial through the headset is sometimes loud and sometimes soft. But overall, the call volume is kinda soft... What do u guys think? |

I can confirm my K750i's (x3) and HBH-662's (x3) all have the same problem (i.e. won't reconnect after disconnection). Also, take sure you don't put your phone in silent mode whilst in "port headset" profile as using voice dialing can crash the phone.

Well when your headset is connected to your phone just go to the Bluetooth menu, scroll down to menu item "Accessories", find your headset, press key on it to select. After few seconds phone will display headset's firmware revision.
I have HBH-65 and my phone says:
HBH-65 CAH 1090505_R2C
from that i can conclude that firmware version in my headset is R2C
