it says in the manual somewhere that when the phone is charging it can take upto 30 minutes for the display to confirm charging, so the red light behind the on/off switch will come on (or flash)

It is a firmware bug... Try using the SEUS. It "should" fix it...

It's a known problem in K700, S700 etc.

The light is only supposed to flash when the battery is low and comes on constantly after you put it on charge but sometimes the light will flash for no apparent reason.
It does no harm so I'd just leave it before trying to mess about with altering f/w, voiding the warranty and potentially breaking the phone.

MikLSP, why shld it void warranty ? Unless one scr*ws up the process (wrongly) ? THEY themselves ARE providing the Update Service (in a way asking us to use it- if needed)

Anyway > > >

Seba- you 'can' put up with it like MikLSP said.

Or ask the Serv. Cntr to comment / help.

SEUS (SE Update Service) is a provision to update FW issues. 'Services' tab on SE homepage. Either Online or d/load the arnd 10MB setup (WinMe onward supported. Need the Cable)
