On boat, T39 in pocket, boat capsizes, T39 not waterproof. Keave for a few days in warm room to dry out, amazingly everything works but for the down arrow. Is it possible to dismantle a T39 to check the keys ?

TIA to all who reply.

Cracker.

yes it's possible... but it's a bit tricky... the best thing is to use the special opening tools available (looks like razor blades, but aren't as sharp as real razor blades), but it can be done with a small screwdriver...

Where do I start ? I have looked at the casing for an opening or obvious connection.

Again TIA.

first of all you need to remove the antenna

then start with the sides, bend it carefully until the sideslightly opens, do this on both sides, then do the same with the top right next to the antenna connector... it's hard for me to tell you how to do it since I always use the openingtools, since using anything else might damage the phone.

yeah it is... T39, T28 and T29 has the same opening procedure.

a caution when opening and putting it back together is the microphone cable between the front cover and the phone... make sure the cable is not squeezed in some way since this may result in bad sound

yeah... but if it seems to be stucked... just push gently on the antenna outwards from the phone and you'll here a clicking sound, then it's easy to just pull it out
