you must only use DRS-10 or DRS-11 cable (or a modified T28 flash cable. search esato)

I can't speak for a 3rd party cable, but an Ericsson DRS-11 cable will have "Ericsson" etched on one side of the connector and sticker (also with Ericsson labelled) with type and numbers on the other side.

The DRS-11 also has a small power-point on the other side of the connector (away from the side that connects to the phone), this power-point will accept the phone charger so you can charge while using the serial data cable with your computer.

I think the DRS-10 cable is similiar in design. Anyone confirm this?

I looked at the DRS-11 cable, can get 1 for £15.99 which i might do (ebay.co.uk) my cable is 3rd party, and has never done anything useful its whole life.

Since you intend to buy a new Ericsson cable, you may want to consider the MA-620 infrared device instead. At least, an infrared will not limit WHAT device you wish to communicate with your PC. Most phones (Ericsson & Nokia) as well as PDAs (IPaq, Palm) are compatible with it.

Cheers.

I will consider the IR device then, mean while i need an application that allows me to send colour graphics to my palm m105 so i can beam them to my ericsson, i know i wont be able to see the images as they are colour, but i only want to forward them, I need to be able to send images from my pc to the palm, and not use phoneface as it doesnt allow that.

@georgyporgy, stop the XTND Connect phone icon in your system tray (right click and Exit)

You can search the forum for various Palm applications that can communicate with the T68i, FunnyPhone will let you beam colour images and ringtones to your T68i.

Go to: http://www.funnysoft.org/

The application can also accept GIF images from your PC once you run a PDB maker program and sync the result with your Palm.

Just a thought...

I had the same problem with the phone monitor not recognising my phone although using an original SE Usb Cable. I changed a few settings in Control Panel - Mobile Phone Monitor and it worked fine.

I enabled only the com port the cable is connected to and reserved it, then disabled all the others and reset the PC.

All worked fine...
Hope it helps...

Cheers!
