Please refer to this website at CNET Asia http://asia.cnet.com/reviews/handphones/0,39001719,39014003,00.htm

It says that the T68 needed to upgrade to a different phone, T68i, in order to upgrade to MMS with a FEE!!!!

Can you imagine Ericsson is doing similar with Siemens??????? Shucks mate!!!!

The articel does not say that there is a cost of upgrading, only that "CNet was unable to confirm the price of the upgrading"

My take on this is:
Sony Ericsson will release a slightly different T68 called T68i that sports the new software.
If you already own a T68, you get the software upgrade for free (as they have said all along).

if i understood it correctly, i think the only difference between the T68 that we all have and the T68i is the new MMS software!!! so if we upgrade our software to be MMS enabled then our T68 becomes T68i!!!????!!!

HULIX & MOFFA : right,..lets take it easy now.

Ericsson told us before, that our phones would get the mms-software.

Harleydog on this forum actually have the MMS-software,..and he has exactly the same phone as all of us. And it works !

The phones that will be sold with the MMS-feature will probably be called T-68i.
This is just my idea.

Once we get the upgrade, our phones will have the same features as the "new ones".

If the phone is called "i" or not, doesnt really matter. We are getting the mms-software according to

I think there're way to many rumours around this "i-model",..but no one knows for sure.

This is a text-piece from the above mentioned website :
---------------------------------
"MMS software upgrade for the T68 will arrive in March. The upgraded version, called the T68i, could turn existing T68 handsets into the first MMS-capable phones in Singapore".
---------------------------------

Read this part carefully : "could turn EXISTING T-68 handsets".

That means OUR phones. The "i" apparently means mms-software.

So after we upgrade, our phones could be called "i" as well.

I sure hope so! Iīm starting to believe that this upgrade is really coming out! I almost lost hope ! I can wait to get my T68 with MMS and all the others goodies to shut that Nokias freaks up that say that T68 only has Bluetooth and the color screen more that 8310 and they say that they give more use to the radio that I do to Bluetooth! SW-upgrades are free the first year from what I've heard, then it costs about 200 sek (22€) per upgrade...

Hopefully the "i" in T68i stand for "I-mode compatible" or something like that...

Yes, both phones will run the same software, it will be the same phone, besides the part that one phone is called T68i and has a Sony Ericsson logo on it.
That's all I'm saying. Your T68 will still be a T68 even if you run with the MMS software.

The Imelody-function should be available in the next upgrade to MMS.
