Sync T68i using Ericsson Comms Suite r2a04 |

Hi there,
I want to sync the phonebook of my T68i using the phone book manager contained in the Ericsson Communications Suite (Version 2.0.161) via Infrared. I am running Win2k on a Compaq Laptop. I want to be able to more comfortably edit contact entries using my PC, without syncing with Notes or Outlook.
I can setup inrared communications between the laptop and the handset. If I hit "Sync Phone Book" it seems to be working, so I get the progress report, etc.. But after the synchronisation has finished, I get a "No objects to display in this view" when - within the PC application - clicking on the phone's address book or the SIM Card view. However, clicking on the main Icon for the address book, it properly displays how many records are contained within the phone/the SIM Card. Strange, eh?
Sync'ing SMSs doesn't work either - same problem ...
I tried to limit IR speed down to 9.6kbps - didn't work. Any other ideas what I could do?
Thanx
Peter

Try use R4A software, maybe this can help.

You may also need to edit your "ecsmca.ini" file (search for it, it's part of the PBTM Manager).
The T68i is not a supported phone (not officially as yet), the PBTM Manager doesn't know anything about it. Search the forum for information on what to add into this file so the PBTM Manager does recognise your T68i.

Hi Arus,
thanks for the hint, I must have used an older link on the easto forum for my first download. Using the link you provided, the software works -say- better. The synchronisation of SMS and SIM record works, I just get nothing from the phone's memory (which is a shame, because this is where I keep most of my contacts).
Any ideas how to fix that?
Thanks and regards

@peterbp
There is another rock sofware also you can try "Mobile Agent"
the link http://www.eflame.com/fma/
To me, it is better than from R4A.
Btw, if your contact records still in your t68i phonebook you can sync with Mobile Agent. |

Hola,
mobileagent works fine, however it doesn't allow me to edit any records. So I probably need to find the trick to make R4A sync my phone's memory as well...
Cheers

To Cophia:
tried to edit the ecsmca.ini file by adding the new line in the [MODELS] section - didn't change anything. Doing that, I found the ecsmca.xml file: It contains all my data (from SIM and phone memory); since the synchronisation is apparently working ok, the problem is that PBTM can't display the data it finds in the XML-file (it uses the Vcard2.1 format). Maybe that can be fixed within the .ini file, but I couldn't find it yet.

Peter,
I have the same problem about the PBTM. Any luck on fixing the program? Your comment is highly appreciated.

Hammerli,
I sort of fixed the problem after de-installing/re-installing the application a couple of times. The weird thing is that it is still unstable, so it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. But in the majority of cases, I can sync via IR with my laptop.
Good luck!
Peter
