sorry - that doesn't work for me! I get the phone status screen instead....very useful for knowing the battery level!!!

My phone status screen on my K750i has a section that says:

I only get that on the status screen if I enter my phone number into the phonebook, options, special numbers, my numbers, my mobile

I assume the phone can pickup the mobile number from some sim cards directly?

not all carriers support that. it works on my UK vodafone sim but not on my german o2 or aussie Telstra

Hmm... I don't remember entering My mobile number into that section in the phonebook. Maybe it does pick it up from the SIM. Although I can change it in there to something else (my number in int'l format) and it reflects the change in the Phone Status screen too.

Some network providers have your phone number programmed on the SIM, via OTA. While others you can/have to enter your own phone number through the on screen menu.

You can also add "My Number" to your shortcut.

the *#100# thing only works on UK Vodafone, these also only work on UK Voda - *#103# gives you the time and date, *#147# gives you the number of the last person to call you, even if the phone is turned off!
