Hi,

I bought my wife a Virgin sim pack (PAYG). She's been using it with my old Ericsson T28 with no problems.

I upgraded my t68i to a K700i so i thought, hey, she can have the t68i.

The problem is that it will work for a minute or so and then lose all signal and refuses to work. It received like 1 out of 9 test txt messages.

So i thought i might be locked to O2 (who i used it with and who i got the phone from originally).

But after checking the lock codes with <**< on my t68i i see that *all* 4 locks (Network, Network subset, SP and Corporate) are unlocked !!!!

Could it just be a problem with Virgin ? or could it still be software locked, other than these 4 locks to not work with any other provider than O2 ? Or are these the *only* locks on the phone.

I have retried the phone with my O2 pay monthly sim and it works fine.

If there is a sim lock or network lock on the phone, it would refuse the sim and simply state the message "insert correct sim"

In this case if the phone works good on O2, it seems that it is indeed a problem of Virgin network.

Okay, thanks. It was the only conclusion that i've come to, which is annoying because the phone then cannot be used.

I have a friend also with a T68i so i will check the sim with that phone to see whether that works or not.

If its due to phonelock, your SIM will not work at all.

Probably just a contact problem - clean your SIM & phone contacts.

Sometimes new SIMs are a bit thinner than others; try sticking a
piece of paper to the back of the SIM before slipping it in.
I use sticky Post-It tape flags or paper - stick then cut around the
SIM to make your sticker the exact same size as the SIM.
