*** Fixed - see end of thread ***

I have just tried to update my K700i from R2AE to R2AY using DaVinci software and have killed my phone.

My phone behaved well at first - I was able to connect, Read CID data etc etc. The phone responded correctly when I briefly pressed the power button after the "Shortly press power button" command.

I first flashed the file K700_TRANSFORM_CID29_to_CID36.DVT to the phone without finalization as requested.

Then I pressed "Read CID/Test Cable" and it detected that the phone was now CID36.

Then without removing the phone from the cradle I tried to flash the two R2AY files to the phone WITH finalization.

Now the phone did not respond to the "Shortly press power button" command. Nothing happened. I stopped the Flash and pressed "Read CID/Test Cable". Nothing happened.

So I tried removing the phone from the DSS-25 and removing the battery to reboot it. Phone completely dead, does not respond to removal of the battery and repowering.

I cannot Flash the k700_recovery_R2A041.bin image to the phone as the DaVinci software is not responding when I press the power button on the phone.

SEUS cannot communicate with the phone.

The battery is fully charged.

Help!

Same thing happened to several of my K700 updates using davinci.

After each flash I had to remove battery and put it back on the DSS-25. DaVinci does not remove a credit until the Finalization has gone through completely so you should be ok.

Just put it back in the stand att flash the main firmware... then the FS... and then Finalization... in three steps... dont forget to remove it from the stand and take out battery between each flash...

It's what I had to do and has worked flawlessly on all my following K700's...

Firefreak is correct you can correct your situation, just do as he has and all will be fine.

Just a reminder after getting the upgrade completed and if you decide to use the Davinci servce again you will not have to reload the 36 to 29 file. All you need to do is flash the main file and language files (you also need a credit to finalize)
