Hi all,

Basically, I placed an order for a sim-free k750i from phones2udirect.co.uk on Tuesday this week. I'm obviously keen to get my hands on the phone as soon as I can!

Their website stated at the time that the product was "in stock". It also stated that delivery was 2-3 days. After an email confirming the order, apparently an email will be given confirming shipping, or one stating the product is out of stock within 12 hours. Obviously, I was expecting one or the other within a day or so.

By Wednesday, I had heard nothing so I email the given contact address asking for an order status. I receive in my opinion a slightly condescending email reiterating that delivery is 2-3 days, and that the phones haven't been shipped as they are not in the country yet (!), until 'tomorrow'. How they can be in stock and not yet in the country, I'm not too sure, unless the company construes being in another country as being 'in stock'... which is a legitimate claim for a multinational company, but it sure is misleading!

Even given that, by the end of this week I had heard nothing. There is a bank holiday on Monday in the UK, which means that I am left in limbo until Tuesday. This is very disappointing given that it's apparent that some places have delivered this phone sim-free. Whether or not the verbiage on their website is strictly true, I do feel that it has been misleading. A simple "this phone is not in stock", or "we have run out of stock of this phone" would have been disappointing, but much more clear and easier to accept.

I'm not sure what to do next, I suspect I will cancel the order. To be fair to the company, they have at least not billed my credit card yet, which is a good point definitely.

As an aside, many thanks for a very entertaining forum!

Yours disappointedly,
David

I havent had any dealings with that company as yet but if it were me i would have given the company until wednesday to deliver the phone. If it wasnt there then i would either have cancelled or have gone to the store and complained. Let us know how your plans turn out [addsig]

Thanks for the replies, looks like I shall be cancelling my order. Now, I really could do with taking delivery of this phone before the weekend - where would be the best place in the UK to order it from which is most likely to have it stock *and* deliver it promptly? Any suggestions?

Cheers,
David

Yes, the shop you are having problems with is amongst this info, but check out the others.
I've had no problems from www.mobilefun.co.uk, having bought a few phones from them.
Or direct from CPW?
Good luck.
