I just got off ther phone with the people at ericsson they have no idea when it will be available here but they assured me that the phone was upgardeable this was my biggest concern when i forked out 300$ for it. those who said they sent there phone to ericsson and got it back upgraded please let me know exactly how you wnet about doeing that |

if you're in the US, SE US upgrade the phones with the latest firmware they have.
PS:
SE costumer service doesnt really have DIRECT contact from the warehouse. mah friend sent his t68m to minnesota and got it back with the MMS ish. ..i wonder y, i wonder how.

You might want to hold off on the firmware updates especially if you have CUSTOM Data accounts for GPRS..
The new firmware R2F004 on my T68m upgraded phone loses it's settings everytime the power is turned off, once has to re-enter it all manually again..
If you don't care about GPRS but just want the T68i software then go for it
He charges 25$ for upgrade + 22$ for Fedex Overnight shipping.. |

Thanks thats not too much to spend out I am not concerned with the gprs I have had a time with cingular about it and just gave it up. All I want is the custom themes and screen savers and mms also when you say custom serrings in gprs do you mean ones you entered or one by the provider |

but they do upgrade t68i's to r2e, and t68m to r2d. |

I got my T68m upgraded to T68i via Robb Weiss. Everything went fine. Turnaround in 24 hours (not same day). His service is recommended.
I do NOT have the problem with disappearing GPRS accounts. Accounts stay even after phone turned off all nite. Everything else works fine on my phone.
Now, if only TMobile (VStream?!?) could get MMS then I could *really* test it out!
