SE - Dodgy Charger |

I had a charger that had SE written on it, but it didnt seem right si sent it in 4 them 2 check it out, they sent it bck saying the charger is unofficial and i should go back to place of purchase and ask them 2 replace it... this was about a yr ago... i cant remeber which compnay made the charger... |

I received a Sony Ericsson branded charger made by ASTEC/AZTEC (cant remember how its spelt) with my S700i.
When i plugged it in and switched on the mains, the charger BLEW UP and my phone just died.... I calld up SE and they said send in the charger an phone and we'll check it out..... 3 weeks later i receive the phone back with another charger (not my blown up one), and a letter saying we cant repair your phone because the charger you used was unofficial... HOW??? It came with my phone, the phone was brand new and had the SE security seal on it which was untouched!!!!
So a warning to you guess out there... if you have a SONY ERICSSON BRANDED charger made by ASTEC/AZTEC (cant remember how its spelt) i recommend you call up SE and ask them to check the charger... or if it does blow and its is unofficial you will be stuck with a phone that doesnt work any more and that cant be repaired!
If anyone else has had similar problem(s) post here and may be if there are enough of us... we can do something about this!
To tell you the truth.... i would never recommend or a buy an SE phone again... yes my last 5 phones have been SE.. but this situation has shown me what SE is al about!

Ive just emailed SE and askd them y u got a replacement charger anh i didnt.
SE in MY opinion are a bunch of Incompetent, laid back tossers!
I really want an SE manager to read this! It will really get up their a** cos they cant do anythng about what ive written about them!
I DO NOT RECOMMEND SE PHONES 2 ANYONE!!! BUY SE PHONES AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!! |

I think that may become true! js after i posted my previous message in this thread i calld up SE to ask why yours did NOT get replaced and why mine did.... wasnt given a firm answer... i was askd where i read your post, i then emailed SE the link where i read it... and no doubt someone frm SE will be reading this... YES YOU, YOU SE EMPLOYEE... I KNOW YOU ARE READING THIS.... (this seems normal of SE as i have discovered over the last week or so!)
and yes i agree with your opinion of SE!! you are 150% correct there! |

You should have asked them if SE or an affiliate made the charger. If not you got a fake and should have returned it where you bought it. If you don't know that is your problem and you cannot blame SE. Buy an original from a reputable company instead of trying to save 50cent and keep the recipt.

Are you guys from India?
I have heard that some dealers in India swap the original cahrger for a cheap alternative. I dont know the reason for this, maybe they are trying to make a bit more money.

Resident evil... i aint no cheapo.... i got the charger WITH my phone! if know how to read u will see that i wrote that already! i didnt buy the charger! also.... if u know anything.... SE dont make there own chargers..... they ALWAYS get another comp 2 make them..... (i.e. SALCOMP, ASTEC, DELTA etc.....)!!!!
