I want to de-brand my K700i from T-Mobile.

T-Mobile put soo much sh*t on it, like the crap theme, annoying sounds and the ugly pictures.

They even changed the software, it say T-Zones always on the stand-by screen, right button.

If I go to a SE Centre, can I update it's fireware to the latest euro-pack? And will that remove all the junk?

Firmware version is R2AE033, they have also locked the phone on ESL. I want that unlocked aswel, will that stop the firmware upgrade?

Yes, u can take it to a service center, and if it is under waranty, then the unbranding will be for free. Or if you have a DSS-25 then u can upgrade it via SEUS or use a third party software (u have to pay 4 this) for example Davinci. Good luck!

Sony Ericsson Service Centres WILL NOT remove branding for you! All they will do is update the branded firmware you already have to the latest version that they have on their system.

SEUS is the SonyEricsson Update Service available on the www.sonyericsson.com web-site.

To un-brand your phone you will need to use a third-party program such as Total Multiserver or DaVinci.

There are many threads about these services on Esato.

That's the same with me, I was on Orange but then I got it unlocked to O2. Orange, like T-Mobile, put a load of s*** on it as well.

The thing I'd do is convince the network to give you the same phone made for their network. eg. Get o2 to give you another one.

I don't want to use the service because it doesn't remove the branding.

I had DaVinci, but I needed the rom files or somfin, know where I can get these?

Grab yourself an unlocking cable off ebay or one of the many phone shops on the net.

Buy yourself a credit from davinci or multiserver. They will provide you with a range of firmwares you can choose from to flash your phone. READ!! The tutorial first (can not stress this enough)and then flash away.

I recently flashed my vodafone crippled s700i. Best thing I could of done. The menu is faster and now has none of that BS vodafone crap.

Goodluck

Thanks.

But I might not risk it.

Next time I buy a fone, it will be sim-free or from a network that does not do this shit.

Does o2 brand?

O2 Branding is normally minamal. With only the startup/shutdown screens bearing an O2 logo... Defo the best network for branding... Or Not Branding as the case may be...

I haven't even heard of Defo where I live!

I couldn't be bothered doing all that mumbo jumbo. Though it would be soo good to get it done. Is there ANY other EASY way of de-branding this Orange "crippled" phone?
