K700i and SEUS |

Hi folks, first time poster here.
I've been reading various threads in this forum and have completely confused myself.
I have a K700i that was originally locked and branded to T-Mobile. The handset has now been unlocked and the firmware replaced with what I was informed is a generic version.
It would appear that this firmware is no longer the latest version and so I have been trying to use the SEUS to upgrade it but get the "Your device is not permitted to use this service" message.
I have read the T-Mobile handsets are not supported by this service, but does this mean handsets with T-Mobile branded firmware or handsets with a IMEI number that can somehow be traced back to being originally a T-Mobile handset ?
I have also read that the CDA that the handset now has is also not supported by SEUS. Is it possible to change the CDA without reflashing the firmware again (for which I believe I would have to pay again), alternatively I have read that it is possible to modify a DLL from the SEUS software to override the CDA passed to the server. Is the process for modifying the DLL documented anywhere ?
Details of firmware following unlock/debrand :
R2Y005
prgCXC 125821_EU_1_C
CDA102286/0 R2A
cxc 125822 1EOW
EU_1
Bottom line, is there anything I can do to enable this handset to work with the SEUS or am I wasting my time ?
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers. | |

That firmware is indeed quite old now.
You are right in thinking that the SEUS knows it was originally a T-Mobile-branded handset based on the IMEI, and so even though it has been unbranded, it is still disallowed. That CDA number is not valid I don't think, but changing it will probably have no effect as the handset is disallowed because it is T-Mobile. You can give it a try, but it will cost a credit, though it won't completely reflash the phone, so you won't lose anything.
Using the modified DLL file may work, but this approach is new to me. Today was the first time I've heard about it.
I'd say your best bet is just to reflash the latest version and change the CDA while you're at it (for the future, just in case). This will only cost you a credit using DaVinci or similar.
