First of all I must apologise for making this post im sure there are many similar posts on the board.
I'm new to the mad mad mad mad world of mobile phones and im trying to unlock my s700i - its on the vodafone uk network - It would be a great help if someone could tell me how to go about this - do i need a data cable or is there a code i can enter into my phone?
Also is it possible to remove the restriction that will not allow me to set mp3s as ringtones or as an alarm?
To all that help - many thanks. |

As for the unlocking, I'm not 100% sure about that. But, there is a way around the lock that Vodafone have put on to stop using mp3's as ringtones. All you need to do is make your mp3 copyright protected, otherwise known as DRMing. You might want to check out the following thread:

your link doesn't work for me?
i'm not sure the vodafone s/k700 are able to use mp3 as ringtone due to firmware, it could be possible to reflash but quite difficult i'm sure to find someone to do so |
