Thememakers denveloped by other people can damage your T68? |

I am wondering if the thememakers denveloped by other people
can damage your phone...
The programms of Ericssony and Christersson are nice thememakers
but can they harm your T68?
Yes, there is a risk that they can damage your phone.
The programms look very nice and they are very nice looking.
A couple of weeks ago http://www.no1themes.com made an online thememaker with wich you could make your own themes. We opened
the *.thm-files to look if the themes could damage your phone.
In the script we could clearly see that everything was oke, butt with the other thememakers we are not so sure about that. If we open a *.thm file made with the programm of "Ericssony" we see this:

I know the programm makes different signs when you open it in a writing programm. But please look at this, when we open summer.thm, we see this:

PLEASE LOOK AT THE DIFFERENCE!
What I and my team think is that if a denveloper is very good he or she can putt extra commend it the programm to damage your phone.
We are not saying this to say that you don't must use the thememakers, we only want to show you that your phone can become damaged by "bugs" in the programm itself.
Me and my team first want to use the new "Thememaker Pro" but after we saw some things in the programm we do not 100% trust we don't use is and we will keep using the online thememaker on http://www.sonyericsson.com
About a couple of weeks I will have a meeting with SonyEricsson about this sort of programms, because I think SonyEricsson should denvelop a programm itself. Then we can 100% trust it is ok and no one want to damage other phones.
Please do not think we write this to harm the people that made the thememakers, we only want to show you that it is better if you should wait a couple of weeks more till SonyEricsson denveloped their own thememaker, and there will be a new thememaker, but when it comes out I can't say.

Maybe the strange code is because themes have pictures in them, but you only send one file to the phone, so where does the pictures come from... the strange code is the image in "text form" if you understand what i mean.
Thats what i think it is. |

I don't think you should worry too much about this.  themes are made in XML. I guess the phone use the same parser as it does with WML and xhtml pages. If it is a fault with the page (or theme), the parser will throw an error and stop parsing the rest of theme.
I have yet to see a WAP page crash a phone with a solid browser.
The strange code is a gif file. Themes are just gif and XML files packed as a tar file. |

Yep, couldn't agree more...
You see mobilano, you took the first few lines of the theme file.
But if you take the whole theme file crated by christersson.org's themes creator, you'll notice that the script you found in ericsson's original theme is at the end of the file and the picture scripts are on top.
