Weird joystick problem |

So, yesterday I managed to throw my K700i down the stairs! It nearly fell three floors but luckily bounced in the right place and therefore only went down about 10 steps. Upon retrieval, I was surprised to find that everything appeared to be OK, no cracks, scratches etc. Later that day I noticed that the joystick would no longer move upwards. When looking in more detail, I saw that the actual joystick itself has been bashed and slightly disfigured (how it landed on the joystick, I have no idea!) No problem really, I'm upgrading to a K750i in a few weeks so thought nothing of it. After all, when you scroll down it wraps-around anyway. The weird thing is I happened to open up a Java app (world time) and noticed that when using that, the joystick functions in all directions, as it does on Alpha Wing? Any ideas?

Hey Jeko, yeah it's probably just coming to the end of its 12 months warranty, but I don't think I'll bother. My 02 contract is up in two weeks so it'll be the K750i for me after that.....! |

Interesting piece of reading but then again the k7's joystick does seem to have a mind of its own

That's what I miss with my old Motorola fone, the wrap around thing when accessing the - menu! I hope it can be fixed at Service Center - Lee. Maybe it just needs some 'soldering' on it's joystick's contacts, something might just got loose Good Luck!

Let it fix by se,probably some connections are broken or damaged, not a big deal for a service.

Hi Guys,
I know I could get it fixed at a service centre, just wanted to share the strange behaviour. As I said, I'm not going to bother, the phone functions perfectly well, and the one flaw is only a minor one. I'm going to be giving the phone to my partner to replace his old Nokia, and I'm sure he won't be bothered by the joystick issue, especially as he doesn't mess about with his phone like I do, so will simply be using it to make calls and send SMS messages.
