i tried to search words +simple +task and i found few articles... but when i choosed search in "body and title" it gives me "No posts found!"... is this ok?
i mean: what i dont understand
- searching in "body and title" means it tries to search my words in the bodies and also in the titles, and if it is found in one or another, it gives me result. Or it must be present in both body and title???? For me its more logical first version but it is not like that...
... and there is definitely one article with words "simple task" in title
thanks for help...

The Esato search ? forget about it. Esato has been around a long time now, with thousands if not millions of posts, the search function appears to have become senile with age and useless !
Check me out on Instagram ! search for etaab ! |

Why do people insist on slagging off the search when every time I have been tested in threads on in PM I have found exactly the thread that was required.
I get many PM's from people saying they know there was this or that thread but they can't find it and I simply do a search and find it very quickly

I've never had a problem with the search function. I've found it quite useful at times.
When i wanted to locate the pic of my k700's red keypad i posted a month earlier, i didnt know which thread and which page i had posted it on, i entered red keypad, author as my user id and found the post in seconds.
The search is really effective imo but you must learn to use it and not expect to get what your searching for in the first page of search results itself.
@andybutkaj - try searching for the phrase simple task without the '+' symbol and make sure "body and title" is selected, you'll see that the second result is the one your looking for
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence of your attempt !! |

it was not functional well, then later i wrote "now i understand", because later it was working ok again (searching in message titles later gives me another - correct results with same query)... thats only reason why i couldnt find what i wanted.
But i am using search functionality everyday on esato, and for me its quite usable!
thx esato

Because many of us don't have TIME and WILL to do so, we would just rather type in some words and get some answers. I, for one, can't be bothered to waste time doing a fancy search using google etc.
But the Esato search is a very useful tool for those that know how to use it.

well I always say you get out what you put in and I don't think the search can be blamed when people don't take the time to learn to utilise it to its best.
from my experience there are very few search engines which operate on such a large database that can provide exactly the results you want without some thought being put into the criteria you specify and the old adage applies well here... garbage in... garbage out
I used to have a hard time finding what I wanted on ebay until I spent some time learning the wildcards and other features of the search which best give me the results I want so I don't get 20 pages of auctions to scan through and its really no different here.
I'm not saying the search is perfect by any stretch of the imagination but in summary I say people should take the time if you want to get the best value from Esato and in many cases this can mean the difference betwen getting an immediate answer, which most of us want, or posting a possible duplicate thread and then either getting flamed or having to wait for another member to respond
