Nope it cant play wma, only mp3, midi, mp4, aac, amr

If you want a phone which play wma/wmv (+ many many other multimedia formats) get a windows mobile smartphone (for eg: spv c500)

Ask sony for that. As long as they support mp3 additional atrac code is a nice value. Sony has a bad habit to make everything exclusive and neglect mainstream standard.
