I read the white paper and it says that the screen's illumination if 'Front-light'. What does that mean? What is the difference compared to backlit screens? Which is better? Which one does the 7650 have?

Front lighting means the pixels arent self illuminated, the lcd has lights around the sides. the pixels then reflect this light back to you as the colors you see on the screen. This is a good solution for a mobile because if you are outside all the ambient light is also reflected making the screen brighter. backliot screens get washed out in outdoors/ bright light conidtions because the ambient light overpowers the backlight. The only truly better solution would be a Transreflective screen, which is back lit and reflects ambient light, but from what i understand they are significantly more expensive to make.

Front/side lit LCDs are also better since they are a lot less power hungry... they only need a few LEDs to light up the whole screen as opposed to backlit (laptops have backlit screens) which light up each and every pixel.

Granted that frontlit screens are not as vibrant as backlit ones, I don't want my phone dying in 4 hours like the iPaqs do (iPaqs are transreflective BTW)
