K700 & Z520: weird shift of received SMS to SIM! |

Hi all!
I'm so enthusiast of my recent K700i bought that I've succeeded a friend of mine did the same!
He still has an R2AA fw, while I'm on R2AE (and have different SIM Operators).
His K700i has the following abnormal issue:
- when he receives a new SMS, once read and clicked Back, it shows briefly a window stating "Msg transferred to Saved Msg folder", e.g. in the SIM !
As soon as the SIM becomes full, the weird transfer stops and the K700 keeps the new msgs (at last!) in the Inbox folder.
I've been looking for any setting in his mobile and mine, with no success...
Could be a fw related issue? An Operator issue? Any hidden function we couldn't find ?
Any info is highly appreciated...
Bye,
Macco

Sounds like firmware corruption. I have never heard of it transfering the messages to the SIM before, unless there is a setting to do that (just checked my S700 and can't find such a setting) it could be firmware problem.
Take it to a SE service center and have them take a look at it, under the warranty they will flash it for free. |

It's strange that the mobile functions properly for any other aspect!
Can't believe that it's a fw problem (e.g. a bad flash): it couldn't bring to a precise msg "Transferred to Saved folder"!
Any still with an R2AA can give any info about their experience?? |

UPDATE:
My wife's brand new Z520i (TIM branded) shows the same weird symptom: whenever an SMS is read in In-box, as soon as you exit (back) it will be FORCELY moved to SIM archived SMS folder. This until the SMS capacity is free. Maybe after that, that sort of behaviour is stopped.
So definitely is not a firmware corruption or a problem of one handset only. Maybe the brandization by TIM...
All that with a SIM not of the branding operator (no more testing done with other SIMs, sorry); Her SIM doesn't show this incovenience with another phone...
Any help? |
