I have connected a T28 cables (non-Ericsson) to a T28 on WindowsME, however - it will not connect to a T68i.

What phone are you trying to connect to and what software are you using on WindowsME?

Look for a T68 cable (eBay is a good source), you could try a 3rd party product (make sure it is for a T68 phone) or an Ericsson DRS-11 cable - this is what I use.

It's also possible to get an Infrared adapter for your PC (unless you use a Notebook with one built-in) - this also works if you configure it with your Windows OS as a serial port device.

AFAIK, the T28 does not have a data cable. It only works with IR or Bluetooth. Therefore, anything sold as a T28 cable is actually a flash cable, used for flashing the software. This can be confirmed if you open the port with Hyperterminal and you get debug information.

You can convert the cable with instructions here. I've done it myself. Five minutees with a small screwdriver and tweezers. http://www.pbase.com/dan47/cable

An IR adapter might be nicer..

There are thing we currently have no software for doing using a cable. Most notably, you can select objects in you phone and select send.

The send menu only supports Bluetooth and IR, but there is (almost?) no BT software that accepts thoose transfers yet, so it only works with IR.

This means that it is not possible to send images, ringtones and theemes FROM the phone to the PC, except with a IR adapter (There are rumors that the Anycom Bluetooth software works as well).

@bhaal, it is not a rumour that the T68i can send objects and the Anycom BT can receive those. I have this setup working on my iPAQ.

Arnoldc: Nice! There must be 10 threads asking about this!

Do you know what profile it uses?

Is the Anycom software available somewhere for d/l? It could be interesting to try on other adapters. Or maybe you already tried this?

In Denmark the Anycom adapter is not readily available (and I think it is quite expensive anyway?). I'm working on getting MSI adapters to Denmark.
