Msi Bluetooth + Picture Transfers |

I can't quite find a definitive answer to this one in the threads from searching so I thought i'd ask it myself.
I have the MSI Bluetooth USB key and a T68i with MCA 20 camera.
Using this hardware is it possible to transfer pictures from the phone to the PC ?
Or am I going to have to get an IR adapter for this purpose? Or a different Bluetooth adapter?
If I go to the software and get it to add File Transfer service it says it isn't supported on the phone.
If I 'send via bluetooth' a picture from the phone, it detects the PC and then says "transfer failed" when it tries to actually do it.
Any help appreciated
Matt.

Yes, it should be possible to use the msi to transfer objects from the phone to a PC. But the problem is that you won't find any software that can receive them.
QuicBeam from ExtendedSystems does this if you use IrDA, but I haven't found any software for devices.
Anyway. You can't use File Transfer protocol for this. Serial port is the only option. |

Have you properly setup your MPM?

I guess that depends on what "properly" means ?
I've certainly got everything else working fine such as outlook sync if that's what you mean - anything else I should be looking at ?

If you want to use Bluetooth, you first have to copy the images from the CommuniCam to the phone. |

Laffen is totally right. It's a software matter.

Epedemic is right, mpm has nothing to do with file transfer. And you know what? I can transfer files between anycom and msi.

That depends on whether the pc app is dependent on mpm (like most apps from SE) or not.

@*, these problems will soon go away (hopefully) when microsoft releases the native bluetooth support for windows xp (if you don't have xp, it still is a problem) |

Guys, help me.
I have Poke2 Bluetooth Adapter, have the same problem with NeutronIC.
I can't transfer file (can't found "file transfer" on my t39m device).
What should I do? it because of software or what?

Same problem here.
I actually managed to transfer a pic from the phone to my pc once, but since then never again. Get the same transfer failed messages. It's annoying as i know that it works. I run Win XP so i guess i have to wait for the native bluetooth support. My mca-20 will just be redundant until then. |

Native Bluetooth file transfer software uses the "File transfer profile" which is not (and could not be) supported by T39, T520, T68x. This profiles requires an actual files system on the device, so you could access ie. "C:\Pictures", and the phones does not have that. Its for PC/Notepad/PDA's.
So you wont have any luck using std. BT software and looking for a file transfer service to the phone.
However files can be transferred using OPP (Object Push Profile), which is intended for credit card exchanges and the like - don't know if that could be used for pictures, but in this profiles the sender should initiate the transfer.
In the T68i only, the Generic Object Exchange Profile is supported, and this could accomplish the task as well, I guess. Haven't seen software for it though.
However, most just use Bluetooth to establish a serial connection to the phone, and then use a program that can talk to the phone over a serial connection (Ie. Ericsson MPM programs, and Christerssons programs, and Floats Mobile Agent)
Epedemic: What were you able to do using the 3com "BT-native" software ? |
