I have a HCB-30 Bluetooth car kit working with my S700i.

I have changed cars and going to reinstall it in my new car on the weekend, the car manual states that the stereo in the car has 2 prewired plugs (which I have found) which supply the power, mute and route the audio via the car speakers.

Now after reading the book, unless I purchase the HCE-16 i will have to use the standard speaker that comes with the kit and the audio will be heard through that. If i purchase the HCE-16 i can have it route the audio via the car stereo, is this correct?

Thanks

Your car is a Ford Falcon correct? Which version - AU, AUII, AUIII,
BA or BAII? You won't need anything other than the kit itself.

How did you know

Its a BA Series 1

I can feel the plugs at the back near the fusebox.

I have the kit was working fine with the included speaker in the previous car.

I want to be able to get the calls to mute the stereo and also route the call via the car speakers, rather than the included speaker and obviously mute the stereo.

Do i need to purchase the HCE-16 or not ?

S/E would say yes;
But your BA doesn't actually need it. It's very clever you see...

Both the plugs are actually on the same loom.
Gently pull on the loom breaking the blue tape that is tying it up.The blue connector has the 12V constant wire, 12V accessory wire, Earth wire (black) and Stereo mute wire (turquoise).

The white plug has the +ve and -ve speaker inputs.

S/E wiring:

RED 12V Constant
BLUE 12V Acc
BLACK Earth
YELLOW Stereo Mute

Cut the speaker cable AT THE SPEAKER END leaving plently of cable attached to the plug!!! Remove the outer insulation exposing 2 thin wires - RED (speaker +ve) and BLACK (speaker -ve)

Attach spade terminals to each of the four S/E wires and to each of the Spkr wires, then plug in to the two plugs.

Simple as that! The Ford stereo will do the rest.

Sorry for my slow typing

HCE-16 has it's uses, but with BA Falcon, VY/VZ Commodore and some VW / Audi cars, the factory fitted speaker interface makes it unnecessary.
