Sorry if this is a dumb question, don't know too much about phones. I just got my v800 firmware upgraded to z800. It can no longer read chinese text anymore. I was wondering if there is anyway to add a chinese language pack to it I can view the titles of my chinese mp3s to choose. I want my menu language to stay as English, I just want it to be able to read Chinese filenames. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Wow! You can actually do that?
Is it possible to write Japanese or Chinese signs too? I don't want to draw them all the time... Oh, is this avaiable for Z1010? Don' have a V/Z800.

Sounds like you upgraded to a non-Chinese firmware.

You may have to look for another firmware upgrade that includes Chinese. Not all firmware supports Chinese characters as they are 'double-byte' characters which require more memory to display. Same goes for Arabic (if it's available for the phone).

You would need to flash your handset with the appropriate-language firmware...

Due to the fact that complex languages (such as most Asian languages) typically require a LOT more space, most manufacturers will only offer THAT language in the firmware, with little or no alternatives available in the menu.

if you want to change into chinese no matter simplified or traditional chinese

it's not just flashing a language pack!! you need to flash the main also! since the phone sw for english and chinese are completely difference..

if u flash a phone with English main flash + a chinese language pack

it will result a DEAD phone..
