I brought the my k700i to the service station the other day just so that I could get them to verify whether iI have the latest software on da fone. Asked the service officer to teach me how to go about checking the software version. She said it's against company policy to teach customers how to do it, but she said she could just check it for me.

So she grabbed my phone, pressed a few buttons and muttered "yup, you have the latest version". I couldn't see how she did it coz the fone was facing her. When she returned me the phone, it was back in standby screen.

I would appreciate it if anyone could share with me how to go abt checking the software version. And what is the latest software to date? Thanks.

From standby screen, press this sequence: >*<<*<* where < & > means joystick left or right. Select software info from the service menu that pops up.

@gbrooks : Oh, okie, goddit. Thanks, pal mine's R2AE033.

Yup, that's the response I got - against company policy. I call it "bad service". Haha. Aint too sure whether it's only against company policy at Wisma Singapore or everywhere else in the world.

Why should it be against company policy anyway? Nuts!
