My father ownes a P900 so I was trying to update the firmware on my K700i using his DSS-25 when I install the driver for the DSS-25 and the latest syncstation but when it installs the DSS-25 it tells me "new usb port found"

How are you installing the DSS-25?

What I would do is unplug it, then go to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel and get rid of the 'SEMC DSS SyncStation Driver'.

Download the latest drivers here and extract the zip files once it's downloaded.

Now reinstall it. Plug in the SyncStation, and when it asks for drivers, point it to the extracted folder and let it do its thing. It may appear to be installed then popup again to install something else, so just point it to that same folder again.

Let us know how you get on.
