Hi folks --

I've had my t68i for a few months now, and I think the earphone might be damaged. It sometimes sounds like a blown speaker (sorta rattling), but I'm not sure if it is the phone or just bad service (VS in NYC). I tried the earphone test on the service menu and the tones sound awful -- but they are also super loud so maybe they sound bad for that reason.

Has anyone had similar problems with their phones?

thanks,

On the earphone test on my T68i and in fact all the T68m's that I've had the tones have sounded fine and clear with no distortion. So maybe you should get it checked?

Thanks for the reply -- I made some phone calls about replacing the phone, the options aren't too good:

J&R - 14 day return policy (i've had it for 3 months)

SonyEricsson - They want me to mail it to them for repairs, which means no phone for at least a week

VoiceStream - They would send me a new phone, but they are not selling it yet!

I was pretty impressed that VoiceStream would replace the phone considering I didn't buy it from them. I also mentioned I tried the earphone test from the service menu, accessed with a code I got off the internet -- and the service rep asked me if I got the code from Esato.com

I think I'll live with it for now, until VoiceStream starts selling them. Any idea if or when that will happen?
