Hi guys... well i guess i've solved the mysterious yellow screen issue!!

i thikn all of us know that some screens are yellower than some, while some are bright white....

well i was in malaysia for awhile, and was at a cell phone shop... i was watching some guy fix up 2 spoilt t68s... i started talking to him and he explained what he was doing... anyway to cut the long story short,

i got to see the screens on the 2 fones light up.. CLOSE UP. with out the covers on, and i found out why some fones are yellower than others!!

it has nothing to do with the STN LCD screen, and EVERYTHING to do with the LEDS around the screen...

the LEDS light up the LCD, and they are the culprits!!

different batches of fones use different batches of the "white" leds..

some of them are really WHITE WHITE, while some are slightly yellowish...

anyway, to solve the problem u don't really have to change ur whole fone.... if u have access to the Screens, u can just change the screens, coz the LEDS are BUILT into the screen component, unlike Nokias where they are soldered onto the motherboard....

once u've seen a WHITE WHITE led t68, u'll never look at ur own YELLOW white t68 in the same way...

a similar situation is that of the nokia 8250s... the first batches were a DEEP BLUE, while later batches were more of a turquoise blue..

everything to do with the different batches of the LEDS...

if ur really preoccupied with ur screen colour, and wanna try something cool out, maybe u could take out ur screen, and solder on some ultra bright white LEDS.....

i bet u'd get the brightest whitest screen!!!

cool thing is that the screen is a separate component from the fone.. so u can mess around with it without spoiling the motherboard...

hope this post has been useful!

cheers

Hey!
I don't know wheather T68 or T68i or any other phones has this function or not!
Cos I just bought a R600 and I get to change the different backgroud lights.

I also get to change the contrast to suit me if the screen is too white or yellowish.
