i just bought a new car and it appears to have had a car kit installed before (it has the aerial on the back window and microphone near the driver all wired in) would i be able to use this with my phone and cradle? and what parts would i need?

You would need a car kit that's made for your phone, and if the microphone and ariel fits your kit than no need for new one.
If it weren't for bad lucks, I would have no lucks at all.

well the aerial and mic are there but theres no connector, could be under the dash somewhere but ive never used a car kit b4 so i dont know where 2 look. i was wondering as i know these kits are expensive but i always thought the mic was the main cost and i already have that

For a functioning carkit you need :

A microphone
A speaker (usually mounted under the steering column)
A wiring loom (usually connected to the Stereo wiring loom)
A cradle and sytem cable (to connect to your phone)
An electronic control box

The antenna on the rear window is optional.

Often people remove all the bits they can see or get thier hands on, ie: the speaker, cradle and control box. They usually can't remove the mic and antenna so leave it behind.

I've installed over 1500 carkits and write on the subject for a magazine in New Zealand. Anything you want to know just ask...

Did you find any additional components?
If you post the make, model and year of your vehicle then perhaps I can give you more specific info on how to remove panels or where to best mount the cradle.
