Use Proxy: Yes

You have written the IP and port number also right? If yes and still does not work, then check on your provider's website, maybe they will provide some information. I've had the similar problem on k500 and switching on the Http mode solved it.

wap gprs is plain vanilla gprs..only gives access to wap sites..advanced gprs will cost you more but gives full web access..do visit the SE India thread..

Actually enabling Http mode in the profile means that you will be using WAP 2.0 protocol instead of WAP 1.x (at least as far as I know). I don't think it has to do anything with the subscription. I have only WAP GPRS and it works on my connection. Maybe you should visit the SE site, they have the settings for number of countries and operators.

On SE site you go to K700 section and there should be something like this:

Phone setup
WAP
E-mail
MMS

(This is from K500 section)

Go to WAP (here is the link http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?cc=us&lc=en&ver=4000&template=ps1_1_1_1&zone=ps&lm=ps1_1&pid=10176 for K500 but these two phones are practically the same so should not make any difference).

EDIT:

Just checked, SE lets you select the phone on this link to WAP Configurator (that's how it's called ) so there should be completely no difference

@mobikid..afaik providers like hutch & airtel have varying rates across differerent circles...For e.g I think Airtel offers full web gprs in CHennai for 600/- pm...but i pay 199/- for the same thing here in Mumbai...You might wanna call Hutch and ask them about pricing for "Hutch Access"..thats the web gprs pack...Trust me mate...i used it here for a month...its a complete ripoff...coz they will charge a rental and place a restriction on the volume of data thats transferred...over and above that is chargeable @50p per 10 kb...which is ridiculous...Airtel rules in that area..Im enjoying unlimited gprs for just 199/- and speeds are pretty decent
