I am making animated wallpapers and screensavers for one of my customers. I know how to do animated wallpapers, but I have never made screensavers for mobiles before. Is it the same process to make a gif-screensavers as making an animated gif-wallpaper? I have specifications for the dimension, the filesize and the maximum number of frames. What more should I think about when making a screensaver?

animated wallpapers display in the standby screen and strech to the screen size, screensavers only appear full screen when you set it as a screensaver, if a screesaver is set as a wallpaper it will not fit the screen fully and looks distorted.

But I mean, is there any difference in making screensavers compared to making wallpapers? My customer MediaPlazza wants gif screensavers. I have already made animated wallpaper according to their specifications. The specifications are for the dimension and the filesize.

These are about the same for the animated wallpapers and the screensavers, with some small differences. So can I use the same gif-animations that I have made for the animated wallpapers for the screensavers, if I just remake them with the right dimension and filesize? It just seems too simple, don't I have to do something more with gif-animations to make them work as screensavers?

No, the screensaver are just regular animated .gif files, nothing fancy.

All you need to do is make sure you know the right sizes for the screensavers (full screen or wallpaper size) and that's about it
